March 2006

The February 25th Charity Knit-In atWestminster Canterbury Penthouse - our first - was a success! Those attending suggested another one later in the year. Stay tuned for a date.

We've had a request from a guild member, also the mother of a soldier with the C Company, 116th Infantry Battalion, 29th Infantry Division. The Division will be deploying to Kosovo in late November 2006. The unit commander said they would greatly appreciate helmet liners to help combat the Kosovo's cold winters. The helmet liners must be black in 100% wool. There are about 120 men in the unit. No women because they serve in combat units. Many of the young soldiers are students and will be taking leave from school. If you would like to participate, please use this pattern helmetliners.

March meeting, Monday the 6th – Program: Renaissance knitter, spinner and re-enactor.

March 25th – Francis Land House, 10 am to 4 pm – This is a fun, family day – all the guilds are there demonstrating their craft. We're still in need of volunteers. We'll be raffling several knitted items. Proceeds to support the Heifer Foundation.
